Air India Revises Fuel Surcharge for Domestic and International Flights from April 2026
Air India has revised its fuel surcharge for both domestic and international flights starting April 2026 due to rising global jet fuel prices. The airline has introduced a distance-based surcharge system for domestic routes, where passengers will pay different fuel charges depending on the distance of their flight. This change has been implemented to help airlines manage increasing operational costs caused by fluctuations in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices.
For international flights, the revised surcharge varies depending on the travel region and route distance. Long-haul destinations may see higher fuel charges compared to short-haul routes. The update may slightly affect ticket prices for new bookings, but it allows the airline to balance rising fuel expenses while continuing to operate flights efficiently.
